Fenty Field at Harriet Tubman Elementary School is Inappropriate
Mayor's Name Dominates New Field
Washington, DC: The District of Columbia Republican Committee made the following statement in response Mayor Adrian Fenty's name being placed on the new Harriet Tubman Elementary School Soccer Field. The Mayor's name stretches across the field and the new stadium cost District taxpayers $558,000.
"The Administration has essentially created a Fenty Field. What should have been a celebratory occasion in showing off a new sports field, ended up being more of a PR campaign by the Mayor," stated Robert J. Kabel, Chairman of the DC Republican Committee.
"When did renovating a sports field for DC kids take a back seat to the Mayor's full throttle style of self promotion? If the new field is really for the kids, the Mayor should remove his name from the field immediately," concluded Kabel.

I am a VOTING REPUBLICAN, and this field is what the Columbia Heights community DESERVED! No more gangs, no more broken bottles or muddy soccer games!!! If you don't have a better opinion of the area after this was built, then you are living in politics land, and NOT in the real world. Check out the satellite photo of the "before", then go look at the field now. The CH community loves TUBMAN FIELD, no matter who's name is on it!
